Not an "ABS-like" material. RedEye On Demand offers prototypes and manufactured parts in actual industrial-grade plastics.
A true industrial thermoplastic, ABS or Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene is a true industrial thermoplastic that is impact-resistant and structurally strong. ABS parts are built with a layered manufacturing process utilizing Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) technology. It is the most commonly specified plastic material for the production of injection-molded parts due to its strength, visual appeal and all-around suitability for a wide range of applications.
This high-performance engineering material provides excellent dimensional stability and aesthetic qualities that can be used for functional end use parts and prototypes.
- Prototype with a production grade thermoplastic
PC-ABS (Polycarbonate-ABS) is one of the most widely used industrial thermoplastics. PC-ABS offers the most desirable properties of both materials the superior mechanical properties and heat resistance of PC and the excellent feature of ABS.
This thermoplastic polymer blend combines PC (Polycarbonate) and ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) to produce an industrial material with a lot to offer. It combines the strength of PC with the flexibility of ABS. With excellent heat-resistance and mechanical properties, it is significantly stronger than ABS. PC/ABS parts are built with a layered manufacturing process utilizing Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) technology. Parts produced from this technology will maintain dimensional stability.

Durable engineering grade plastic.
•ABSi (ABS with high impact strength)
The durability of this engineering grade plastic has higher impact strength than normal ABS. Its appearance is semi-translucent.
•ABS M-30 (Acrylonitrile/butadiene/styrene)
25-70% stronger than Standard ABS and with a greater tensile, impact and flexural strength.
Excellent durability, high performance plastic.
Excellent durability, with medical applications.
•PC/ABS (Polycarbonate/ABS Blend)
A blend of polycarbonate and ABS plastic. This blend combines the strength of PC with the flexibility of ABS.
The highest durability of any FDM thermoplastic. This material has superior impact strength, V-Zero flammability rating, resistant to chemicals, acids and petroleum products.

Direct Digital Manufacturing (DDM) is the technique of creating production-grade parts directly for end-use with rapid prototyping equipment. Direct digital manufactured parts are ready to use in internal assemblies, or can be finished to high-quality surfaces with polishing, sealing or painting. Also called rapid manufacturing, additive manufacturing or additive fabrication, DDM offers benefits in increased speed and low-volume requirements over alternative manufacturing techniques such as injection molding and die casting.
Direct digital manufacturing can gain a competitive edge for small to mid-sized manufacturers who:
•Produce short-run quantities of parts where the cost of a traditional mold would be high on a per-part basis.
•Require rapid turnaround of 2-5 days.
•Need parts that utilize complex geometries with negative angles, undercuts, thin walls or complex injection mold parts.
