U.S. AIR FORCE SELECTS CHROMALLOY TO PROVIDE MAINTENANCE COST SAVINGS ON TURBINE ENGINE REPAIRS

Turbine Blade Repairs Save 57 Percent Off the Cost of Buying New Blades

ORANGEBURG, N.Y., September 2, 2010 – Chromalloy announced today that it has been selected by the U.S. Air Force to provide repairs on TF33 first stage turbine engine blades in a new three-year contract valued at $1.2 million.

“Chromalloy is pleased to build on our longstanding support to the Air Force by providing turbine engine repairs to keep the warfighter fleet mission ready,” said Armand F. Lauzon, Jr., President.  “By selecting Chromalloy, the Air Force has chosen repairs over replacement of TF33 turbine blades, which provides significant cost savings while delivering exceptional performance.”

The remanufacture of the turbine blade repairs will be performed at Chromalloy’s Oklahoma City, Okla., facility, in support of Tinker Air Force Base at Oklahoma City.

Chromalloy currently provides repairs, parts and other services on other U.S. Air Force, Navy and Army contracts.

The company is the world’s leading independent supplier of technologically advanced repairs, coatings, and FAA-approved replacement parts for turbine airfoils and other critical engine components for commercial airlines, the military and industrial turbine engine applications.
